Snare Camp Curriculm
Drum! Drum ! Drum!
This camp will present a chance for intermediate and advanced level snare drummers to focus on snare technique and ensemble playing.
You'll work with some of the best marching snare drummers in the activity, and you'll drum from sun-rise to sun-set! By the end of camp, you'll even
see yourself playing side by side with the 2006 Phantom Regiment snare line.
A complete focus on snare line playing, you'll have no distractions from other sections.
If you intend to play snare drum at the highest level drum corps or college band, this camp is a great way to immerse yourself in snare playing.
Snare drums will be provided by the Pearl Drum Company, bring your own snare stand and sticks
(though you'll leave with a pair of Paul Rennick signature snare sticks from Innovative Percussion).
Come ready to drum!
Frequently asked questions
What if my parents want to visit?
Your parents are welcome to visit at anytime during the camp. There is a quality, reasonably priced hotel two blocks from the campus that they can make overnight arrangements at if they wish to stay more than a day. Contact Sweden House Hotel at 815-399-1890. Many other hotel and motel options are available, all within a 10-minute drive of Rockford College campus.
Is this connected with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps?
Yes it is. The clinicians, counselors and directors are all active alumni or staff members of the Phantom Regiment organization. In fact, the Phantom Regiment will be holding its pre-season camp during this same time! You will be involved in several inter-active events with the Phantom Regiment, including attending the opening season concert in downtown Rockford.
Can I pick who my room-mates in the dorm will be?
Yes, simply let the camp director know and we will do our best to accommodate you. The dorms are 4-person suites with a shared kitchen area and bathrooms.
