Thursday, June 12 (Dave's Diary - 2001)
Today was a nice relaxed day for everyone. We did two concerts, and rehearsed about four hours.
The first concert wasn't so good. A lot of issues with people just being lazy with the music. It wasn't awful, but definitely a step back from what we are used to.
After that concert we headed to the park to have sectionals. We worked on our sound, and it got a lot better in the time we had. I think it was just what we needed. We haven't had a rehearsal based on just sound yet. So it definitely helped.
The concert in the park was awesome -- by far the best we have sounded this year.
The crowd really enjoyed the show, and so did we. When we play well, we have so much fun doing what we love to do. At the end of the concert, most of our lips were gone so our encore (Elsa's Procession) didn't sound near as well as we are used to. But despite that, it was a great night.
We get back to the school and Johnny B. hooked us up!!!
He took us to the bowling alley next door and paid for the entire corps. It was great to get out and have some fun and just relax.
Tomorrow is supposed to be pretty hot and nasty, but there will be plenty more this summer.
I think the hornline just made a huge stride, and we just need to keep the ball rolling these next two days.
FIRST SHOW IS IN 2 DAYS!!!!! Go Back
